100% pure lambswool blanket featuring the MacRae Hunting Grey tartan, made in Scotland by Lochcarron in their Selkirk mill, Scottish Borders. This blanket is an ideal accessory to bring personality into your home interior. Perfect for a cold winter's evening or alternatively, superb for use in the summer as a picnic rug.
Kintail, to which they are said to have migrated in the 14th century, is the home of the MacRaes. They supported the MacKenzies and were Chamberlains of Kintail and Constables of Eilean Donan Castle. The MacRaes were Jacobites and served the Royal Stuarts faithfully and well. The Fernaig Manuscript (1688-1693), which was compiled by Duncan MacRae of Inverinate, is a valuable contribution to Gaelic literature.
