100 x 93 cm stretched canvas print featuring artwork Catterline in Winter by Joan Eardley from the National Galleries of Scotland Collection. Printed in a finely textured artist-grade cotton substrate at 400gsm which consistently reproduces image details with outstanding clarity and detail.
Eardley’s rented cottage can be seen at the far left of the painting which is perched on top of the hill in the small fishing village of Catterline, Aberdeenshire in Scotland. At the mercy of the elements, the cottages seem to be bracing themselves for a hard winter.
Joan Kathleen Harding Eardley was a British artist noted for her portraiture of street children in Glasgow and for her landscapes of the fishing village of Catterline and surroundings on the North-East coast of Scotland. One of Scotland's most enduringly popular artists, her career was tragically cut short by breast cancer.
