Beautiful handmade fabric decoration inspired by the oil painting Reverend Robert Walker (1755 - 1808) Skating on Duddingston Loch by Sir Henry Raeburn part of the National Galleries of Scotland Collection. The skating minister is wearing a plush velveteen black coat with intricate beading and silver embroidery.
This fair trade decoration is produced by Saint Nicolas. For over 25 years Saint Nicolas have worked with a Christian charity in Thailand to help disadvantaged women find work in their community, today some 200 skilled women work at home sewing St Nicolas decorations, and many of them have been doing so for more than 10 years.
