Ian Hamilton Finlay: Little Sparta and Collaborations by Robin Gillanders, is a hardback book that presents the unique relationship between poet and artist Finlay and photographer Robin Gillanders.

The book presents a series of photographs taken at Little Sparta, the garden of the Ian Hamilton Finlay alongside, poems and essays. Finlay and Gillanders were friends and collaborators. This book includes photographs of their partnership taken at Finlay's garden, from 1993 until his death in 2006. Essays by 4 major authorities on Finlay’s life are included in the book by academics, Stephen Bann, and Greg Thomas along with poets Alistair Peebles and Alec Finlay.

The book is published by Studies in Photography and is the first in their new series, Themes in Photography. 

Robin Gillanders is former Reader in Photography at Edinburgh Napier University and was awarded a Fellowship in 2016. He has several works in the collection of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, the V&A in London, and the National Portrait Gallery in London. He has exhibited his photography nationally and internationally and has also established himself as a prolific author. Ian Hamilton Finlay: Little Sparta and Collaborations is his Sixth book.
