Recollections: Scottish Art from Julius Caesar to Osama bin Laden serves as Holloway's memoir - presenting the formation and nature of his own personal collection of Scottish art.

This beautifully presented book is colour illustrated with a hardback cover with cloth binding.

James Holloway CBE (b. 1948) was the director of the Scottish National Portrait Gallery from 1997 until 2007, who oversaw the landmark restoration and reorganisation of the Portrait Gallery as we see it today. Since retirement, Holloway has become the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Abbotsford Trust responsible for Abbotsford House, the former home of Sir Walter Scott. Holloway is also a Trustee of the Fleming Wyfold Foundation and of the Historic Scotland Foundation.
