100% silk vibrant blue neck tie designed exclusively for the National Galleries of Scotland. Inspired by the brightly coloured floral artwork Tulips | The Blue Jug by Samuel John Peploe from the National Galleries of Scotland collection.
By 1920 he had abandoned the impressionistic brushwork of his early years for a much tighter handling, which owes much to Cézanne. At the same time he brought an almost geometric structure to his compositions and introduced bright, acid colours. He generally painted the same motifs - flowers, fruit, fans and crockery - arranged in different combinations.
Samuel John Peploe (27 January 1871 – 11 October 1935) was a Scottish Post-Impressionist painter, noted for his still life works and for being one of the group of four painters that became known as the Scottish Colourists. The other colourists were John Duncan Fergusson, Francis Cadell and Leslie Hunter.
Fox and Chave work in collaboration with the National Galleries of Scotland to create a unique range of fashionable scarves and ties. All scarves and ties are made from 100% pure silk.
