Made in Stoke-on-Trent, UK, the artwork image is wrapped around the mug. Grayson Perry and National Galleries of Scotland logos are printed on the base of the mug.

Reclining Artist shows Grayson Perry in his studio as both, artist and model. Resembling a reclining nude, the scene represents his fantasy of being considered a sex object, while depicting metaphorical representations of masculinity and god through several objects in the setting.

Born in Chelmsford, Essex in 1960, Grayson Perry lives and works in London, UK. He has gone from taking evening classes in pottery to winning the Turner Prize, presenting television programmes on Channel 4 and writing acclaimed books. Always keen to do the unexpected, pottery allowed him the opportunity to indulge his fascination with sex, punk, and counterculture amongst other things, in the most unlikely and polite of art forms. Today, he is one of Britain’s most celebrated artists and cultural figures.
