The Glasgow-based artist uses complex geometric patterns to create unique forms that brings the spectator an ephemeral experience of his works. Wright won the Turner Prize in 2009. Permanent works include commissions for the Tate Britain (London) and the Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam). Commissioned by the Edinburgh Art Festival, he produced, over four-week period, a work for Scottish Gallery of Modern Art Two, located in the west stairwell of the building.
