This mini wall calendar features 12 black-and-white illustrations of the much-loved characters from the comic strip Moomins that began in 1947 in the children’s section of the Finnish newspaper Ny Tid.
Eccentric, adventurous and kind-hearted, the beloved Moomins, created by Finnish writer and illustrator Tove Jansson, have endeared themselves to audiences since 1945. In 1954, London’s biggest evening newspaper, the Evening News, began to publish the Moomin comics too. In this format alone, the Moomins would reach up to 20 million readers in 40 countries around the world.
Informative text accompanies each work, and the date pad features previous and next month’s views. Produced by Flame Tree Publishing.
